Kiralyleanyka
Kiralyleanyka (lit "king's maiden") was rarely planted until the second half of the 20th Century. Now it is quite common. It is a natural cross, probably between Leanyka and Koversolo.
Cultivation: Kiralyleanyka is a high yeilding variety that fruits early and doesn't mind the frost. It produces luxurient foliage which needs pruning to aid ripening and to ventilate the grapes, which have a tendency to rot. Kiralyleanyka demands good soils.
Wine Style: Kiralyleanyka produces a light spicy flavoured wine with refreshing acidity. It is not improved by ageing in either barrel or bottle. Drink young.
Distribution: Kiralyleanyka is grown in Etyek-Buda and in Eger.
